For this home, our Dr. Energy Saver team helped address the problem at the source by improving attic insulation, extending the bath fan duct properly through the roof, installing a scuttle cover, and adding baffles to support proper airflow throughout the attic. Next, we converted the space into a SuperAttic system by installing 4" SilverGlo foam board along the roof rafters. The system was fully air sealed using Zyp Foam to create an airtight, conditioned attic. This approach helps reduce energy loss, improve indoor comfort year-round, and maintain proper roof ventilation by keeping the roof deck cold in winter. Finally, we installed and extended attic decking to both the front and back of the attic, creating safe, functional storage space for the homeowner.
