Attic Insulation in Golden Valley, MN

This homeowner contacted DBS after enduring a daily routine to bring their space heater upstairs just so they could warm the upstairs addition. They wanted proper insulation to alleviate this issue and finally have a warmer upstairs level.   Our Design Specialist visited the property and recommended a solution that involves a full installation of the attic.   When Kornell Green, our Foreman, and the crew went to the property, they installed 5 XL can light covers, air sealed and insulated the access points, baffles, and floors using our spray foam insulation. Once the spray foam insulation was complete, Kornell and the team secured the installation further by using our TruSoft Cellulose. Once the project was complete, the homeowner was very happy with the final result!

Cold floors? We can help! Crawl Space Encapsulation Project In Excelsior, Minnesota

These homeowners from Excelsior, MN reached out to DBS for help keeping their floors warm and eliminating musty odors throughout their home. The problem was with their exposed earth crawl space.    DBS Design Specialist, James Miller went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the work. James recommended applying closed-cell spray foam along the joists of this crawl space to seal off outdoor air. CleanSpace® waterproofing vapor barrier was applied along the floor and walls of the crawl space. This home was repaired by DBS Foreman Nick Woods and his production crew.   The results were a dry, healthy, and warm crawl space with lower energy bills!

Duluth, MN Home Has Attic Insulation to Reduce Ice Dams and Leaking

The owner of this in Duluth, MN had issues with ice dams in the winter. Ice dams are a symptoms of warm air in your home leaking out via the attic. Wanting to save energy and create a more comfortable home, they contacted us about our Dr. Energy Saver insulation services. Our Dr. Energy Saver Design Specialist went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the insulation project. After inspecting the attic space, it was determined that a combination of rigid foam and expanding spray foam were necessary to effectively insulate the attic. DBS Foreman Orrin Sundberg and his team installed nearly 400 square feet of SilverGlo™ insulation. This graphite-infused rigid foam insulation will provide a solid radiant barrier and prvent heat from leeching out of the home via the ceiling. The sealed the seams in the foam insulation with expanding ZypFoam to block any air leakage.
They then used our TruSoft™ cellulose to dense pack the exterior walls. TruSoft™ has a higher R-value than fiberglass and other cellulose materials, perfect for use in our northern climate. Tru-Soft™ cellulose is extra dense and made from recycled news paper. It's treated to be extremely resistant to heat and fire, making it a great companion for an attic space.  This home is now properly equipped to handle warm Minnesota summers and freezing winters with new attic insulation.

Duluth, MN Homeowners Increase Comfort with New Attic Insulation

After connecting energy issues to their under-insulated attic, Duluth, MN homeowners contacted DBS for more information about our Dr. Energy Saver® insulation service.

DBS Design Specialist Austin Burley visited the home and provided an estimate for the attic re-insulation project. He designed a custom plan that would air seal the attic, and include new cellulose insulation.

DBS Foreman Nick Woods II led the install of this attic insulation project. The crew applied closed-cell spray foam to the attic deck sealing gaps, cracks, and holes. They also wrapped the chimney in rock wool and sealed the base. From there, they installed TruSoft cellulose. This lightweight, yet dense insulation is made from recycled newspapers and coated with a non-toxic formula that is resistant to pests and fire.

After a successful attic insulation like this one, the homeowners should expect increased comfort and reduced energy bills.
