We had a Halco heat pump system installed in June/July 2022 to replace an oil furnace. The heat pumps worked in two ways: a duct system in one sizable area of the house and floor units in all other areas. We allowed a few seasons to pass before writing this review. The system works very well to heat and cool the house and is a good investment. There is one area where our system unfortunately does not serve well. The kitchen was and remains the coldest part of the house due to a glitch in the insulation phase of the job which was not foreseen during the design stage of the process. Overall, the whole process went smoothly and the teams that installed the system are our biggest rave. They were organized, efficient, helpful, and pleasant. All Halco staff were prompt and accommodating whenever contacted by phone or email. One recommendation to Halco is to provide a booklet/pamphlet of instructions on how to operate and maintain the system. A suggestion for prospective buyers is to invest in a solar system to cover expensive electric usage. Our project budget didn’t allow us to do this at that time.
