A retired homeowner had their back porch, which is connected to their screened-in porch, had to be partially dismantled to install a new sewer pipe. He found himself needing to repair and rebuild it. He wanted to restore his porch to ensure that it is safe, functional, and visually appealing. It also enhances the overall usability and aesthetic value of his outdoor living space, and it increases the home’s value, providing a safe environment for him, his family, and guests.
Started with removing the dog house and a ramp coming from the patio door, no existing deck Build a 12 x 18 deck against the house and a 12 x12 octagon deck
Build a 2x5 new dog house with a removable roof, dog door from the home to the dog house and the dog house to the dog’s ramp
Duralife Brazilian cherry decking and fascia
Duralife Lattice around the base of the deck
Regal aluminum railing system around the deck and a gate at the stairs
Lighted post caps on each post including the dog ramp
Lighted stair steps
Cut down the railing system on the dog ramp to approx. 18” high and use lattice for the deck railing
