Here in Michigan we have some cold winters! This moisture-ridden sheathing read 100% on the moisture meter at the time of inspection and the cold winter temperatures had turned it to frost! Mold was present and as the attic was also having ventilation issues, it was only a matter of time before the mold took over completely. After the ventilation was corrected, we were able to install baffles and spray-treat utilizing RMR-86 and bring this wood back to life!
Upon inspection of home mold found in attic
Our customer purchased a new home with home inspection noting a lack of insulation in the attic. Our customer decided to air seal and insulate the scuttle cover and blow in Cellulose Insulation over the top of the batt insulation acting as a new blanket for the attic.
Customer had a home inspection for a sale on his home. Mold was found and he wanted new insulation and the mold cleaned before final inspection. He was happy to sell his home in a timely manner once we were completed.
This attic didn't have enough insulation. Our company topped off the attic with cellulose insulation.
