The customer had ice dam issues and cold rooms in the winter and warm rooms in the summer.
Our customer called stating his rooms were cold in the winter and hot in the summer time. Lacking in insulation and air sealing caused this attic to allow living space temperatures become inconsistent.
Just because you have insulation doesn't mean it's efficient, adequate or in proper working order! We've come a long way since fiberglass batt! The R-Value (the capability of your insulation to resist heat flow) of TruSoft™ blown-in cellulose insulation is much higher than fiberglass batt and will take many less inches to achieve the same R-Value.
Our customer called for her home was flagged with a mold like substance from a Home Inspection. Our company came in to remediate and corrected the ventilation. We cleared the soffits of debris and insulation and added new soffit vents, and cleaned the sheathing and truss with Mold X2 products. Our customer was happy her attic was cleaned and well ventilated.
This customer needed an overhaul! TCI spray treated the mold, disposed of the contaminated insulation, air sealed the attic floor and re-insulated with cellulose. The ventilation was corrected to ensure the mold won't return, and with an air sealed attic floor and insulation (R-Value of 60 here), our customer's home will be comfortable in temperature and more energy efficient each month.
