An open blow of 14 inches of cellulose insulation was the choice here. One of the more important aspects of insulating is sealing all the various holes, cracks and openings which naturally occur during the building process. That air sealing is what is seen here. It is an often overlooked part of the insulation process. This home will be much more comfortable and energy efficient because this step was taken along with the cellulose.

We applied 4 inches of closed cell foam to the roof deck and 1 inch to the gable ends. The upstairs is now considerably more comfortable.
