This home in Hempstead, NY had an attic that wasn’t properly insulated resulting in the home having cold, drafty rooms, cold floors, and was harder to heat and keep comfortable. This results in having higher fuel and electric bills since you’re trying so hard to keep your house comfortable. Triple H added 14” blown in cellulose to the attic space after air sealing all the air leaks. We also added a catwalk to the air handler. Now this home should be warmer, less drafty, noticeably more comfortable all around, with lower fuel and electric bills.

This customer in Glen Head requested a free home energy assessment. Upon arrival they had advised that they just moved into the house and feels the house has different temperatures throughout the whole house, mostly on the first floor. It was determined that the attic was not insulated. Therefor all the heat was traveling from the first floor into the attic, creating the first floor to be colder. To improve the comfort on the first floor the attic was insulated with blown in cellulose insulation. This contains the heat in the home, resulting in a warmer home.
