To help this homeowner better insulate his attic space, Triple H insulated it with Rockwool batt insulation. Now the home will have less drafts and be more comfortable year round.
This homeowner in Manhasset, NY reached out to Triple H Insulation because his home was feeling hot and drafty, as well as he felt that his AC system was constantly running but the home was not getting cold. Our specialist Ryan went out to the home to complete an evaluation. After the evaluation, one of Ryan's recommendations was to encapsulate the AC duct system in the attic space. Your vented attic is the worst possible place to locate ducts. Attics are the extreme opposite temperature of the air your ducts are trying to distribute to rooms. Our crew encapsulated this duct system with an inch of spray foam insulation. By doing so, we are sealing and insulating this whole duct system. Now when this AC system cools the air, the cool air will be delivered to all rooms without loss along the way, and without constantly staying on.
A resident of Franklin Square had a free in-home evaluation. The homeowner was having some comfort concerns. It was determined that the home could benefit from new insulation and air sealing in the attic. Before blowing in cellulose insulation, we air sealed the attic floor. Air sealing is always recommended when putting in new insulation because it seals up all air leaks in the home. We then blew in 12" of Cellulose insulation, providing a superior R-value per inch. Now that the attic is sealed and insulated properly, the customer should now experience warmer winters and cooler summers, as well as a less drafty home.
When our home comfort specialist arrived at a home in Malverne, NY it was easy to see a poorly insulated knee wall was causing comfort concerns. A knee wall space is created when a finished room is built within a sloped roof. When this area isn’t properly insulated it results in the upper level, the ceiling of the lower level, and the knee wall to be very cold in winter and hot in the summer. The knee wall is then not suitable for storage. Triple H added baffles in each rafter bay to ensure proper airflow before adding the insulation. Then they added fiberglass insulation before covering it with SilverGlo foam board insulation. SilverGlo is installed under the rafters up to the knee wall and sealed at the top with foam sealant. After the installation, inside air can’t get out of the house through the knee wall space and outside air can’t get in. Now with the knee wall properly insulated there should be significantly warmer upstairs in the winter and cooler in the summer, as well as less drafts throughout the home.
The homeowners from Lynbrook had a free home energy assessment to find out why they had frozen pipes in their crawlspace. They were also concerned about some of the floors being cold. In order for the homeowner to be more comfortable and to help prevent pipes from freezing Triple H Contracting used Silverglo and a radiant barrier to properly insulate their crawl space. Silverglo aids in keeping warm air in and cool air out in the winter and the cold air in and warm air out in the summer months. The radiant barriers also helps with climate control and moisture . This home will no longer have cool floors or concerns about pipes freezing in the winter.
