Customer Concern:
A homeowner in Osgoode was struggling with a wet basement that threatened their belongings and home’s foundation. Water seepage was leaving the space damp and uncomfortable, and they wanted a permanent waterproofing solution to protect their basement for the long term.
Our inspection revealed water intrusion along the basement walls and floor joints. The existing system was not able to manage heavy water flow, which put the basement at risk of repeated flooding. The homeowner needed a reliable interior waterproofing system to keep their space dry year round.
To fully waterproof the basement, we installed a combination of proven products designed to keep water out and direct it safely away from the home:
CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier
Installed on basement walls to block moisture and humidity while creating a clean, finished look.
WaterGuard® Drainage System
Placed around the perimeter of the basement to capture water at the floor/wall joint and direct it to the sump pump.
WaterGuard® Inspection Port
Added for easy access and maintenance of the drainage system.
Zoeller M98 Sump Pump
Installed a high-performance sump pump to efficiently remove water from the basement and prevent flooding.
IceGuard® Discharge Line Protection
Added IceGuard® fittings to prevent backups in the sump pump discharge line during freezing temperatures.
The new waterproofing system transformed the basement into a dry, protected, and more usable space. The homeowner now has peace of mind knowing their basement is safeguarded against water intrusion in every season. The combination of CleanSpace®, WaterGuard®, and the Zoeller M98 sump pump ensures lasting protection and reliability.
We had a customer in Ottawa who had some concerns with their crawlspace and some sagging due to support loss. Our crew encapsulated the crawlspace and added supplemental beams and smart jacks to help stabilize the floors above and prevent sagging.
Cleanspace vapor barrier installed is an amazing reinforced liner system used to encapsulate crawlspaces and basements, acting as a durable, bright white barrier against moisture, outside air, pests, and mold, creating a healthier, cleaner, and more energy efficient foundation environment. It's installed on floors and walls, often with other components like drainage matting, turning damp, musty areas into sealed, usable spaces. Strong key features with cleanspace is that it is
- durable and astrong. 20mm thick liner designed to resist punctures, tears and wear.
- Moisture control. It helps block out water and humidity from the ground and walls preventing rot and mold.
- Improved air quality. Keeps out musty odors and helps create a healthier indoor environment.
- Anti-Mold. Contains an ultra fresh additive to prevent mold growth.
- Passive radon mitigation. Can serve as a passive system to reduce radon entry.
- Integrated system. Works well with other products like drainage mats and vents covers for complete encapsulation.
Installing a supplemental beam is an added structural support, often steel placed under a main beam in crawlspaces or basements to fix sagging floors, reduce bounce and reinforce failing supports, using adjustable jacks like Smart Jacks to lift and stabilize the structure for long term stability and to prevent further damage. Key features of supplemental beams and smart jacks
- Fix sagging Floors. It addresses uneven or bouncy floors caused by failing main beams, preventing floors joists from deflecting.
- Add strength. It increases the load bearing capacity of a compromised floor system, handling heavier items like appliances or safes.
- Stabilizes structure. Provides lasting support often lifting the main beam back to it's original level.
- Supports weak beams. reinforces beams that can't handle current or increased loads, preventing cracks and potential collapse.
