In finding the problems they both came to an agreement to remove all insulation and vacuum out the entire attic. Air seal the entire attic with fire retardant foam. Any big opening will be filled with silverglo boards & sealed with foam. Air sealing all penetrations and vents. Installing 3 can light covers. Lastly installing 10” of cellulose insulation to obtain R- 38 Value.

Mr. Turner of Plainview, Texas, contacted Fortenberry Roofing Co. to improve the insulation and ventilation in his attic. He was interested in having blown-in insulation installed to help increase energy efficiency and home comfort. Our Lead Salesman, Dexter, met with Mr. Turner, discussed his needs, and provided a detailed estimate. The scope of work included installing 10 inches of blown-in cellulose insulation, 21 feet of ridge vent, and seven 8"x16" soffit vents to ensure proper attic ventilation. After finalizing the plan, Dexter coordinated with our Lead Technician, Leo, to carry out the work. Leo and crew member Spencer arrived on-site and completed the job, blowing in 10 inches of cellulose insulation throughout the attic, cutting a 3-inch ridge slot, and installing two ridge vents on the north and south sections of the roof. The ridge vents were properly covered with shingles to ensure a watertight finish. They also installed seven soffit vents to provide balanced intake airflow.
