Attic Insulation Project in Winchester, VA

A home in Winchester, VA was experiencing unbearably hot top floors during the summer months. The master bedroom was the worst - sometimes, the homeowners had to sleep in the downstairs guest bedroom to escape the heat!

It came as no surprise to us that the attic had insufficient and almost non-existent insulation. It also had a vent that was directly allowing outside air in! It's no wonder that the rooms under this attic would be having these issues.

To fix this problem, we first air sealed leakage points with spray foam. We then blew in a thick layer of cellulose insulation through the entire attic. This attic is now a conditioned space and won't contribute to comfort/efficiency problems any more!

New Attic Insulation in Winchester, VA

A home in Winchester, VA had an attic with very little insulation. The Comfenergy Crew came out and properly air sealed and insulated the attic. Insulating your attic can help prevent air from escaping the house and stop outside air from coming in. Heating and cooling costs account for up to 50-70 percent of the energy used in an average home.

Hot Bedroom-Stephens City, VA

Vertical walls with little/no, or fiberglass insulation on them allow the 130 degree attic heat to radiate through the drywall into a bedroom. SilverGlo foam boards (4" thick) can fix this problem.

Dense Packing a Cathedral Ceiling

Cellulose Insulation was used to dense pack the cathedral ceiling of this cottage that had no insulation in the attic.  We also found a cantilevered section that required dense packing as well.
