Uninsulated Deck Causing Humidity In Rooms Above

This home has a sun room/porch that is built on a deck. The floor of the deck had no insulation and as a result, the floor and room above it were uncomfortably humid in the summer and literally cold to the touch in the winter. We installed closed cell spray foam to the rafters under the deck to insulate and keep the floors above the deck comfortable!

Replacing Fiberglass Insulation in Amissville, VA

This Amissville, VA homeowner was looking to lower their utility bills this coming winter.  This before and after pic shows how we removed/disposed of the old fiberglass batt insulation.  Then, newly blown TruSoft cellulose insulation was installed. This cellulose insulation is more densely packed and does a better job at insulating a home than fiberglass due to its quality and ability to reach a high R-value.

Cold Rooms-Rixeyville, VA

This Rixeyville, VA homeowner was complaining about a cold room on the upper level of their home. After a full comfort evaluation provided for FREE by Comfenergy we found an attic that was adjacent to this room. The wall adjacent to this attic was merely insulated with fiberglass batts.  The problem with this is that fiberglass does NOT stop air from travelling around and through it.  This is why your furnace filter is made of fiberglass. It allows the air through, but not the dust and dirt.

Comfenergy solved this issue by using 2" thick EPS SilverGlo foam boards to secure on this wall to provide a good air barrier and an additional R10 thermal insulation value.

Now this room is toasty warm and can be used in cold winter months!!!

Spray Foam Crawl Space

This crawl space in Delaplane, VA was encapsulated using closed cell spray foam.  This was done to make the floors above the crawl space warmer in the winter.
