Monica wanted to improve the overall performance of her home by addressing areas where energy loss commonly occurs. Even without major comfort complaints, the basement is often a hidden source of inefficiency.
Our team focused on sealing and insulating key areas that impact the entire home. We spray-foamed the rim joists to stop outside air from entering and conditioned air from escaping. We also insulated exposed pipes to reduce heat loss and protect them from temperature fluctuations.
These improvements may seem simple, but they play a major role in how well a home holds temperature and how efficiently it runs.
Now the home is tighter, better protected, and operating more efficiently from the ground up.
Richard needed attic insulation for him East Liverpool home in Ohio. He contacted Home Environment Solutions to set up a free in home energy efficiency test. After the test, Russ determined that the home needed to be air sealed and insulated. Richard would also benefit form having his chimney sealed with metal flashing and rock wool.
Richard called the office and set the appointment to have the work done. The HES team arrived and transformed Richards old attic into a money saving, energy efficient attic.

Travis from East Liverpool Ohio called Home Environment Solutions saying that no matter if she adjusts the temperature on his thermostat, his home is still cold in the winter and warm in the summer. We sent our expert Russ out to her home to perform a free home energy audit. Russ found old batt insulation, a non-insulated scuttle cover and unsealed penetrations such as wire and pipe runs.
We sent our insulation team out and they removed all the old insulation and disposed of it. Installed Silverglo along attic deck, installed titeshell over top of can lights and sealed with zipfoam. They also sealed and insulated scuttle cover, air sealed all penetrations interior and exterior and installed Trusoft cellulose on attic floor.
John reached out because parts of his home were never comfortable, especially during the winter. Floors felt cold, drafts were noticeable, and energy bills were higher than expected. The biggest issue was the room over the garage, which stayed uncomfortable no matter the season. The basement also felt cold and contributed to overall heat loss in the home.
Our team focused on strengthening the home’s thermal envelope and stopping air loss at key problem areas. We sealed and insulated the attic, addressed knee wall and cantilevered areas supporting the room over the garage, sealed top plates, and insulated the rim joists in the basement. By tightening these areas, we helped keep conditioned air where it belongs.
Now, John’s home feels balanced and comfortable. The room over the garage stays usable year-round, the basement is warmer in winter, drafts are reduced, and energy costs are lower.
