Rebecca wanted to lower her energy bills and eliminate the drafts moving through her two-story home. She also needed better attic access so the space could be used safely and serviced when needed.

Our team air sealed with ZypFoam and insulated the attic with SilverGlo rigid foam, installed an insulated scuttle cover, and closed up air leaks around wiring, top plates, and fixtures. We also improved the attic access and added insulation upgrades that help keep warm air inside during winter and block heat from entering during summer.

Now, Rebecca’s home feels more comfortable in every season, uses less energy, and has a safer, more functional attic access.

Insulation was old and deteriorating.  Knee walls were not insulated causing cold air to penetrate through the upstairs living space.  We  insulated with TruSoft Cellulose and used High Density SilverGlo to insulate. Creating a much warmer/cooler upstairs for the bedrooms.

Kylee called Home Environment solutions saying she thinks she has mold in her attic. Russell went out to inspect and found microbial growth in the attic.

Our mold crew went out and first built a containment barrier on top of the pull down stairs scuttle to prevent contamination of remainder of home. Removed all contaminated fiberglass insulation and discarded. Used a surface substrate cleaner for removal of organic contamination where needed. Air scrubber in attic.  HEPA VAC of roofing and rafter framing after dries. 

Kayleigh reached out because her two-story home was experiencing high energy bills, uneven temperatures upstairs, and visible mold in the attic. The attic over both the original home and the addition needed attention to improve comfort and air quality.

Our team started by remediating the visible mold in the attic. We treated and sanitized the affected areas to restore a clean environment and eliminate contamination.

Once the attic was properly remediated, we focused on strengthening the entire attic system. We sealed attic air leaks, sealed top plates and penetrations, reduced heat loss and heat gain, insulated and sealed attic access openings, and upgraded insulation levels throughout both the original structure and the addition. We also dense-packed insulation where needed to ensure consistent coverage.

With the improvements complete, the attic is clean and properly insulated, upstairs temperatures are more stable, and the home operates more efficiently year-round.
