Garrett contacted us because his home was uncomfortably hot and he believed the issue to be his insulation. His air conditioner was struggling to keep his home cool and ran constantly, and as a result, his cooling bills were astronomical. When we inspected his attic, we found that he had little to no insulation in most areas of his attic, with the highest spots being about 2-3 inches. This was directly causing his air conditioner to have to run all the time, and was actually also heating the conditioned air even before it entered the home. We determined that upgrading his insulation to R49, or 18 inches, was the best solution for his cooling problems.

We began by air-sealing visible air leakage points using closed-cell foam to help prevent the air from flowing from his attic into his home. We then blew in fiberglass insulation to a height of 18 inches.

As a result of the insulation upgrade, Garrett will enjoy reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 30% as well as more comfortable temperatures in his home year-round for as long as he lives there.

Alan met Chris Tyson at the Fresno Home Show and learned about the services Tyson offers. He wanted to make his home more energy-efficient, comfortable, and affordable. We came out and inspected his attic and found that his insulation was low, with only about 3 inches present. Alan was excited to make upgrades to his home, so he opted to have us perform every service possible, which included an attic restoration, installation of an attic fan and whole house fan, and adding window film in his home.

We took the following steps for this extensive project:

- vacuumed out the old insulation

- cleaned and sanitized the attic using DSV sanitizer

- air-sealed the attic floor including top plates, recessed lights, registers, and plumbing and wiring penetrations

- installed rodent-proof barriers to prevent rodents from entering

- installed the QuietCool Trident 7.0 whole house fan

- installed the QuietCool Solar Roof Mount Attic Fan

- blew in premium, fiberglass insulation to an R38 level, which is the current Energy Star-recommended level for our climate here in the Fresno area

- installed window film on all of Alan's windows

Maryann called us because her home felt exceptionally hot and uncomfortable, particularly in the upstairs portion of her home. When we inspected her attic, we discovered that her insulation was lacking: she only had minimal fiberglass batting insulation in the attic, and it was not installed properly. This meant that the hot attic air was easily able to flow into the living spaces of the home, making it hot. We began by removing all of the old batting insulation and debris from the attic. We then cleaned and sanitized the attic using DSV sanitizer in order to eliminate dirt, mold, and other microbes. Next, we air-sealed the attic including top plates, plumbing and wire penetrations, registers, and recessed lights. We further sealed the attic by installing rodent-proof barriers to prevent rodents and other pests from entering the space. Lastly, we blew in fiberglass insulation to an R38 level, or 14 inches. This brought the home up to Energy Star-recommendations.

David contacted us because he had just gone through his first summer in his new house and it had been incredibly hot and uncomfortable, despite running his air conditioner constantly.
