Eliminating Mold and Making a Home More Comfortable in Middletown, CT

This homeowner was referred to us by an existing customer who recently had work done and knew we were perfect for the job. The homeowner had a terrible problem with mold in her attic and asked us to send someone out to help.

Our Building Science Specialist was able to easily identify the problem as being a poorly vented out bath fan leading to the attic. The air coming from the bathroom was mostly warm air, hitting the cold air in the attic and condensing into water and resulting in mold. We completely removed all existing, moldy fiberglass insulation and then cleaned and prepped the area for treatment with our MoldX2™ Cleaner and Botanical. We then built a deck and dam and blew in  new TruSoft™ Cellulose insulation. Next we ducted the bath fan out through the gable end and outside, preventing future mold issues. We completed the job by installing a David Lewis™ attic pull-down stair hatch cover to air seal and insulate the entrance to the attic.

Sealing off Crawl Space Access Door In Agawam, MA

The team sealed off the Crawl Space Access door because of loss of energy in home. With the door shut heat will not escape in the winter and cold air wild not escape in the summer.

Spray Foam on Rim Joists

Used spray foam on rim joists to seal up areas where energy was being lost.

Insulating a Basement in Agawam, MA

This homeowner in Agawam, MA called us hoping that we would be able to help her with her cold home. Specifically, the bathroom in her home was colder than the rest of the house. When our Home Comfort Specialist arrived in the home, he took a look at the area of the basement directly under the bathroom. The insulation in that part of the basement was fiberglass batts that were put into between the beams in the basement ceiling. Unfortunately, fiberglass does not stop airflow, which was causing the cold room problems.

We were able to help this homeowner with her home! We re-insulated this basement with two-part expanding spray foam. We started by removing all of the old fiberglass insulation. After that was all removed, we began applying two part spray foam to the rim joist and over the sill plate. Spray foam expands, filling all cracks and gaps and preventing air flow up from the basement into the main living space. Now, their home (and especially their bathroom) is much more comfortable!

Super Attic in East Hartford, CT

Previously this homeowner was experiencing very uncomfortable rooms below this attic as well as very high energy bills.  Our Building Science Specialist came in and did an evaluation with the homeowner and discovered there were problems in the walk up attic.

Our production team installed a Super Attic Conversion System in this attic to eliminate uncomfortable rooms, ice damming and cold drafts, and of course, energy loss.  The homeowner was very happy with the changes they saw immediately in their home.
