The owner of this home in Minneapolis, MN noticed that one of the walls in their basement was bowing inwards. Looking for a solution, they reached out to DBS for foundation repair assistance.
A DBS Design Specialist went to the home to conduct a free no-obligation estimate for the homeowner. After a thorough inspection, the Design Specialist generated a quote for our PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System.
A DBS Foreman led the installation of this project with help from a crew. Together they installed 5 PowerBrace™ i-beams along the basement walls. Each PowerBrace™ was bolted to the rim joists of the home with a steel bracket that can be tightened during dry periods in an attempt to straighten the wall back to its original position. The footings are secured to the basement concrete slab to ensure permanent stabilization.
Now that the foundation has been permanently stabilized, the homeowner can relax more comfortably without worrying about the integrity of their basement walls.
Facing a settled garage on its east side, a Minneapolis homeowner entrusted us to halt further settling without altering its current height, mindful of neighboring structures like a soon-to-be-removed fence. A free, no-obligation inspection was set up with Design Specialist Jason Swanson and then production team, led by Foreman Jordan Salmi, got to work. As shown in the before photo, the challenge seemed daunting. Yet, through strategic installation of Helical Piers©, paired with meticulous void filling -- no lifting involved, as evident in the after picture -- we ensured stability.
This South Minneapolis home had been in the family for a couple generations. Wanting to restore the cracking and shifting foundation, the owner contacted DBS.
DBS Sales Manager Royce Bunn visited the home to provide a free, no-obligation estimate for the foundation project. Royce thoroughly measured the foundation settlement and discovered that one side of the house in particular was sinking, cause the rest of the foundation to crack and shift as well.
Zach Jorenby and his crew excavated the exterior of the home in order to perform a lift procedure. Our team installed 20 push piers total at the base of the home on the exterior of the home. These galvanized steel piers were then hydraulicaly driven into the ground to weight-bearing soils. The weight of the home was then transferred to the competent soil.
On the home's interior, our production crew used PowerBrace™ steel I-beams to support the buckling wall on the inside.
The homeowners were happy with the work done and can now depend on a safe and comfortable home for years to come.
