This homeowner in Beachwood, NJ, had a small attic above his bedroom and, after living in the home for over 50 years, decided it was time to add new, better quality insulation to it. So he contacted Attic Systems by Cowleys and we were sent out.
When we arrived, we realized that the attic hasn't been touched in long time, as there was a buildup of dust and the fiberglass insulation had been deteriorated to the point that it was no longer doing its job! With the owners permission, we carefully removed all the deteriorated insulation, disposed of it, and then disinfected the attic. Once we were finished, we replaced all the old insulation with ComfortTherm® insulation. ComfortTherm® insulation provides excellent temperature and noise control, and comes with a vapor-retarder for use in hot, humid climates. Now the homeowner has a clean, reinsulated attic space.
A new customer in Holmdel, NJ decided that it was about time to insulate his attic, so he contacted our Attic Systems division. When we inspected the area we were shocked to discover that there no insulation at all in the attic! There was just some debris and old boxes. Without proper insulation, the rooms in the upper levels of a home will become colder a lot quicker, making winter a lot more uncomfortable. First, we removed any and all debris in the attic and then air sealed all the gaps and cracks in the attic. This will eliminate air flow between the living space and the attic, improving energy efficiency.
Afterward, we installed Tight Shell Can Light Covers over the recessed lights in the attic. These are made out of a fire resistant material and is specifically designed to stop unwanted air leakage through the recessed lights. Next, we added over 10 inches of TruSoft blown-in cellulose insulation. TruSoft blown-in cellulose insulation maximizes home comfort, has the highest Class-1 fire safety rating & is resistant to mold and pests. Lastly, we installed several SilverGlo™ borders. This will prevent the insulation from overflowing onto the attic floor and makes the attic look more organized.
Now that our Little Rascals Nuisance Wildlife Removal team has adequately removed all the squirrels from this attic in Holmdel, NJ, we're here to clean up and add new blown-in cellulose insulation. First, we carefully removed all the droppings and contaminated insulation in the attic. Afterward, we air-sealed all the gaps and cracks in the attic. This will eliminate air flow between the living space and the attic, improving energy efficiency.

After our Little Rascals team had safely removed a raccoon that had infested this homeowner attic in Colts Neck, NJ, we're here to remove all of the contaminated insulation and add some new and efficient Trusoft blown-in cellulose insulation.
First, we removed and carefully disposed of all the contaminated insulation and then disinfected the attic. Afterward, we air sealed all the gaps and cracks in the attic, which will eliminate air flow between the living space and the attic. This will greatly improve energy efficiency. For the recessed lights in the attic we installed Tight Shell Can Light Covers over them. These are made out of a fire resistant material and is specifically designed to stop unwanted air leakage through the recessed lights.
We then placed several measuring sticks throughout the attic to ensure that the proper amount of R-value is added to the attic and added over 12 inches of TruSoft blown-in cellulose insulation. Not only does this fill the attic to its recommended insulation levels, but TruSoft insulation maximizes home comfort, has the highest Class-1 fire safety rating, is resistant to mold and pests, is eco-friendly, and optimizes energy usage for year-round peace and savings. After adding TruSoft, we installed several SilverGlo™ borders. This will prevent the insulation from overflowing onto the attic floor and makes the attic look more organized.
After her daughter spotted a groundhog running across the yard and then going underneath the shed, this homeowner in Allenwood, NJ, called our Nuisance Wildlife Division for help. In order to safely retrieve the groundhog, we installed Dig Defense® around the entire perimeter of the shed except for one area, which was the main burrow. Dig Defense® is a below-ground fence system that is 15 inches deep, 4 feet across, and protects structures against invasive nuisance wildlife and feral animals.
Afterward, we installed a positive set over the main burrow. A positive set is comprised of a nose cone that is attached to a two-gaited, heavy-duty device. It's called a positive set, because we are positive that the groundhog will enter our device. Once we safely retrieve the groundhog, we will relocate it to a new, humane location, fill in the burrow, and install another portion of Dig Defense® over the main burrow.
