Ashburn VA Cantilever gets spray foam to help insulate

This Ashburn VA home had an uninsulated cantilever.  The external temperatures were impacting the condition and comfort in the room above.  We removed the base board of the cantilever on the outside of the house and filled the cavities with spray foam to insulate and air seal.  This will help to keep outside temperatures out and inside feeling the way the homeowner would like it to.

Manassas VA HVAC Duct Insulation with Spray Foam

The HVAC ducts in this Manassas VA home were sweating.  Condensation was building up when the cold air passing through the system was met by warm air in the frame work of the home.  This resulted in water spots on the ceiling.  Our Production crew was able to help solve this problem by encapsulating the HVAC ducts with spray Foam Insulation.  The duct system will now be cooler and safe for the cool air to travel through.

Top plate air leakage-Centreville, VA

Top wall plates allow heated air to escape from your home during something called the "stack effect".  This contributes to higher than necessary utility bills, draftiness in the home, and dusting too often. The following before/after pics show how Comfenergy seals these leaks using one part spray foam.

Metal chimney wrap-Centreville, VA

Metal (and brick) flue pipes and chimneys can get very hot when furnaces, water heaters, and fireplaces vent through them.  Insulation should not touch these assemblies due to the possibility of fire in the attic of the home. Comfenergy wraps these flues and chimneys with rock wool fire resistant insualtion before blowing new TruSoft cellulose insulation into your attic.

Stefan's Radiant Barrier Installation

In the summer, your roofing really heats up! Sometimes up to 150 degrees. This heat radiates down from the underside of the roof and into the attic. The heat from your ceiling radiates down into the rooms, heating the air and all the objects in the room. This makes your air conditioner work harder and for longer and makes your upstairs level uncomfortably hot. Stefan's Radiant Barrier can help. It is installed across the bottom of the rafters. Resembling foil, the barrier reflects much of the heat and keeps the attic much cooler.
