This homeowner in Stockbridge, MA called us hoping that we would be able to help her with her home. She had a humidity problem and wanted to resolve it. When our Home Comfort Specialist came out to the home, he noted that she needed insulation in her basement and garage. Among other spots in the home, the frost walls were not insulated. Insulating them would lower the humidity in the basement and prevent energy loss.
We were able to help this customer. We insulated the frost walls in her basement utilizing Foamax polyisocyanurate (Polyiso) insulation boards. These foam boards are installed directly onto the existing walls. They are flame retardant, and are therefore able to stay exposed inside of a basement. They make a noticeable difference in a space, especially in one that has severe temperature control issues such as this homeowner's basement and garage!
This homeowner in Stockbridge, MA called us hoping that we would be able to help him with his home. He had a crawl space under his home. This crawl space had a sagging floor. This is a common problem in a crawl space -- especially when there are humidity problems or weak foundation soils.
We were able to help this customer! We utilized our SmartJack™ floor supports. SmartJack™ systems are able to level and stabilize existing beams and floor joists. This gives immediate stabilization to the floors as well as levels them. SmartJacks™ are made from high-strength steel. They are a great addition to this dirt floor crawlspace. The homeowner is now happy, as his floors are much more stable!
A business owner from Lenox, Ma called us to soundproof interior walls at his bed and breakfast. His customers were complaining about noise between rooms. We sent out our building science specialist to evaluate the situation. The solution was to pack the walls with our Trusoft Cellulose product. It's a great insulator and one of the best soundproofing products on the market. In this example, we drilled through the attic to get to the inside walls and simply dense packed them. Then, we plugged the holes up to ensure total soundproofing.
The business owner is completely satisfied with the work and has not received another complaint about the noise.
We met this homeowner in Lenox, MA at the Lenox Apple Squeeze where they told us about the musty smell in their basement. One of the culprits was this old door at the bottom of the hatch steps letting in moisture.
We removed the old door and installed proper framing. We then hung the new energy efficient door with weather stripping and sealed any spots where air could leak in.
Thanks to Dr. Energy Saver by Eco Energy Solutions, the inside of the home is properly sealed off from the outside, keeping out moisture and harsh winter and summer temperatures.
