Our Home Comfort Specialist informed the homeowner that the very low level of blown-in fiberglass insulation was not providing an R-value needed to properly insulate the attic. We also noticed their attic was not air seal.  Insulating without air sealing does not stop air flow.  Air will continue to escape filtering through the attic insulation.  We recommended air sealing and installing blown cellulose insulation to fix their uncomfortable problem.

Cellulose insulation provides a more natural insulation barrier and is treated to deter unwanted pests infestation.  We removed the loose, contaminated insulation, air sealed to the attic area to stop the air flow and installed a fresh blanket of blown cellulose insulation to ensure the heated and cooled air from inside stayed in!
