These two homeowners finally retired and were ready to enjoy the good life. Being home a lot more often, they began to notice how uncomfortable their house could be. They had a very hot and humid upstairs during the summer and cold and clammy downstairs during the winter. Wanting to be able to enjoy their home, they called up Complete Home Solutions to provide them with the solutions they needed.
Air sealing and insulation were the two major upgrades that we made in the attic. Doing this stopped the major air leakage that was creating such an inconsistent environment inside the home. Just a couple of weeks after making these improvements, we have already heard back from these clients about how amazed they are with the complete difference in their house's feel. CHS is thrilled to have made our clients so satisfied with our work!
This homeowner had a real problem with her house - and it had to do with her comfort. In the winter, the difference between her upstairs and downstairs temperature was drastic - meaning that her upstairs was okay, but her downstairs was absolutely freezing. In the summer, it was the complete opposite - the upstairs was so hot that they felt they couldn't even breath sometimes.
Complete Home Solutions was able to provide some solutions to this serious comfort problem. In cases like this, one of the biggest things that we can do to help the situation is to treat the attic. Air sealing and insulating (with blown in cellulose insulation) creates a healthy thermal barrier that stops the warm air from leaking out in the winter and stops the hot air from getting in in the summer.
This homeowner in Abell, MD was experiencing high utility bills and couldn't figure out why. They called us, Complete Home Solutions to figure out why this was happening. Our Home Comfort Specialist found that the homeowner's crawl space had some old and damaged lining. This means that she was losing energy, from trying to keep the home comfortable. Air from the outside was moving freely into her home from the crawl space area. We recommended a full crawl space encapsulation to help fix her issue!
Our Home Comfort Technicians ending up taking out the damaged lining out and any old insulation. They then proceeded in sealing up the vents and penetration into the crawl space and performed our CleanSpace Encapsulation. This made a huge difference! Just look how clean that crawl space looks now, you could eat off the floor.
The homeowner no longer needs to fight the uncomfortable temperatures in their home and a bonus is that their family is breathing in cleaner and healthier air.

This homeowner in Columbia, MD had noticed more and more that the bottom level of their home was more challenging to keep comfortable. Following a call to Complete Home Solutions our Home Comfort Specialist discovered there was older batt Insulation above their drop ceiling with no form of insulation in the rim joist along the exterior walls. The recommendation to fix this problem was to pull back the batt insulation in the ceiling and apply spray foam in the rim joist along all the exterior walls creating a solid barrier which restricts the outside air from making its way inside, and on the day of the job our Home Comfort Technicians took care of the rest. This process allowed the homeowner to regulate the temperature in the lower level of their home much easier, creating a comfortable conditioned space.
